Jesus! Help! I have Fallen

         Jesus! Help! I Have Fallen!

I have heard this in a commercial, “Help I am fallen and I can not seem to get up!” Have you ever felt this way?

Acts Chapter 3:1-6

Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;

Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.

And Peter fixing his eyes on him with John said, “Look at us.”

So he gave them his attention expecting to receive something from them.

Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

Here is a man lame struggling in life, physically, emotionally, and financially and what was he looking for to ease his pain, money.

Today, there are so many people struggling in life with money, health, marriage, loss of a job, loss of a spouse, divorce. I have heard these sayings, “If we only did this, had that or did that all our problems would go away! “

Peter eyes were fixed on the needy    Where is your focus? What is important to you?

What was the disciples answer? Not money, but Jesus.

Jesus said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Here is a song,”There is power in the name of the Lord! There is hope in the name of the Lord, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.”

Dear friends, when we get down feel like falling, and life is a struggle here is what we can do, as a famous song states, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus and look full into His wonderful face and the things of this world will grow strangely dim in the light of His Glory and Grace!” Trust Him to meet your every needs and He will lift you up!

Come to Jesus today! "Dear Lord Jesus please forgive me of my sins and come into my heart! Thank you for helping In Jesus name amen!"

Love you and give me a call 904-317-0291 or 904-614-6167

The Preacher/Teacher and a Black Youth

The Preacher/Teacher and a Black Youth

What made a black youth respond in positive way to a preacher/teacher?

What made the woman at the well in John chapter four respond in a positive way to Jesus?

   Love!

Jesus saw the woman at the well as a person that needed his love. He saw a woman of worth and of tremendous value to the Kingdom of God.

Some years ago while I was teaching in an elementary school a young man came into my self-contained class. He was deeply troubled. He had difficulty  in reading, math and writing.

I worked with him for almost three years, teaching and developing him.

At the end of fifth grade this young man increase his reading, math and writing. Before the students moved on to middle school, we had a graduation ceremony. To everybody surprised in walked this youth, was dressed in a black suit. They were amazed, because he was the only one who wore a suit.

When it was his time to receive the certificate he came up to me, shook my hand, and gave me a hugh!

After the ceremony his grandmother came up to me and said,

“Rev.Smatt, thank you so much for working with my grandson. His dad is in prison and he has no adult role modle, and now he  is so proud of his accomplishment, that he went out, and bought himself this suit.”

I later asked the assistant principal, why has this young man responded to me.She said,” Because he saw you loved him.”

Dear friends, I believe what brings people together, of all races, is for us to look beyond the color of their skin and see people created in God’s image . To see people as God sees them, which are people of worth and value?

I believe that we need to demonstrate love by our actions, words and deeds.

Jesus said in John 15:13,” Greater love has no one than this, than to lie down’s one life for his friends.

Love,

Eddie

Today we see hate and not love in America!  A few, People,Politicians want to bring up the past wounds to further their agendas! To divide us,our Nation! Their purpose,to bring in a new world order.    All this is evil and wrong! Racism is wrong period! and from whom ever spew this out of their  mouths !

Have you ever been a victim of racism? I found this article very informative.Racism in all forms is biblical wrong!

It is sin! God loves all people of every race and nationality!

In the ministry, I have personally encountered racism. it is hurtful.I remember in one of my churches I had pastored that a group of people had threatened to harm my family and myself because of a message I had preached  about reaching out to all people.

Another time I was at an alumni banquet and a pastor turned to me and said." What Spanish church do you pastor?"

Racism is wrong. Jesus, when he went to Sam aria  1 John  Chapter 4  he met the woman at the well and in verse 9 she states,"Then said to Him ," How is it that You being a Jew ,ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" or Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

verse 10 Jesus answered and said to her." If you knew the gift of God and who is it that says to you ,"Give Me a drink ,"you would have asked Him ,and he would given you living water."

Dear friends, racism and violence is sin and evil! God loves all people, of every race!
In  times we live in,where racial hatred is expounded by hate baiters, let us be a healing force and not a dividing force! Let us bring people together through the Blood of Jesus!Let the past go!!Let us all move forward and discuss the real issues and find solutions to the issues that divide us!

Let us live in the spirit of forgiveness!

Love,

Eddie

I am Alive!

I am Alive

The angel said in Matthew 28:7, “And go quickly and tell that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold I have told you.”

I read an article, where Chavez the President of Venezuela has cancer. he is dying, and is crying out to God to heal him. Now we know the evil, this man has done to his country and facing death he needs a savior. If he is sincere, he can be saved, because of God’s love and mercy.

In an age, where here in America we have driven out God in almost everything, He is still alive and the tomb is still empty!

In here, lies the message of hope and peace.Jesus is alive and is coming back soon and very soon!

Dear friends, if today you have never experienced the wonders of God and you are filling your emptiness with all things of the world and you are still feeling empty, lonely come to Jesus today!

Say with me, “Dear Jesus, forgive of my sins and come into my heart. In Jesus name amen.” By doing so, He came in, He is alive and will make you alive as well.

Love,

 Eddie

It Had To Be

It Had to Be

The big question why it had to be? Why did Jesus die on the cross?

The Death of Jesus Christ had to be because it was planned from the beginning of time- Rev.13:8, and because of the sins of the world. Romans 3:23

I believe also that the resurrection of Jesus Christ had to be because death could not hold Him Acts 2:24

Dear friends, it had to be because he loves thee! God loves you very much. Why not come to Jesus today and receive peace and eternal life.

Why not pray this prayer, “Dear Jesus forgive me of my sins and come into my heart today! In Jesus name, amen”

Love,

Eddie

Arthur Blessit and the Cross

I was in Junior College in Orlando Fl 1969 .  I remember attending the evangelistic meeting at Lake Eola and passing out  Jesus stickers. I had worked in the Good Theif Coffee House, where we witness to hundreds of kids, and gang members. A great preacher! We need men and women today to carry the cross to a lost world! Up from the grave He arose with a mighty triumph over His foes! Jesus!

Is there hope for these distressing times?

Hope in Distressing Times

Is there hope for America? And for the distressing times we are in? We live in times of political hate, unrest, racial and immoral strife? We also live in economic and worldwide tensions

 I heard a story
about a little Indian girl who was playing in her mud hut, she approached a large stone. Beside it laid a large rattlesnake. The snake coiled and then struck the girl, burying he fangs deep into the flesh of the girl’s leg. She screamed. Her brother rushed to her aid. He killed the snake and sucks the venom from the girl’s leg. But he had a sore in his mouth and the poison entered it. Soon he was dead! It cost him his life to save his sister’s.

Friends, it cost Jesus His life to save you and me: For Christ also hath once suffered for sins…that He might bring us to God.” 1Peter 3:18

Are you feeling distressed, lonely, beaten down, worried? Why not come to Jesus today! Jesus is the only one to gives hope and peace. Why not trust in Jesus today

Say a simple prayer, “Dear Jesus, I am a sinner, forgive me dear Lord and come into my heart, in Jesus name amen.

Write and let me know of your decision. Eddie Smatt 2424 Watermill Dr. Orange Park, Fl.32073

Jesus- The Unstoppable-part 3 - Death and Victory

The Unstoppable-Part 3    “Death”

Why was Jesus unstoppable to go to the cross? Jesus died on the cross because we are sinners. We cannot save ourselves, also His love for us, plus he saw that man would slip into eternity with no hope for everlasting life. Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, thus defeating death and making a way for us to live with Him in eternity!

Psalms104:29” …You take away their breath they die and return to dust.”

There is a certainty of death but, Praise the Lord the scriptures states in John11:26

“And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

“1 Cor. 15: 54-57 “So when this corruptible has put on incorruption and this mortal put on immortality.

So when this incorruptible has put incorruption, and this mortal put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written:” Death  swallowed up in victory.”

55. O death, where is your sting?

O hades, where is your victory?

56. The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.

57. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

I Thess. 5:10-11

Wow! Praise God! There is life after death!

The year was 2000 and my dad was taken ill. He was in the hospital for several months. The night he died, I will never forget, because something happened that was so awesome.

My dad had always been afraid to die even though he was saved. I guess there is a little of that in all us, facing the unknown.

I prayed that night for God to give dad peace as he faces death. Well, dad had a trach in him and he could not speak to us. We could see by the monitor that he would soon slip into eternity.

I prayed, “Dear God, thank you for guiding my dad into eternity and giving him peace.” I whispered in his ears,” Dad I love you and I will miss you but you will be with Jesus.”

Tears began to roll down my dad eyes. I started to cry.

Mom was on the other side of the bed.

All of a sudden dad opened his eyes and turned his head to the left and began to talk to someone. He was talking real fast and smiling, like a child receiving candy!

I said, “Mom look dad is smiling and talking to someone!”

Then, all of a sudden, as soon as he had started to talking, he stopped and just stared with a peaceful smile.

I believe he saw Jesus, maybe angels and maybe family members.

Dad passed way with a smile on his
    face.

  God answered my prayers!

Oh, something else. When the          funeral director came to take my dad, he said to me,

“This man must know Jesus.”

I said,” Oh, why?”

He said, “You could see peace on his face!”

Dear friends, there are two things that are certain in life death and taxes. Jesus was unstoppable to go to the cross because he saw death and without His dying and rising from the dead we would slip into eternity hopeless. Everybody, sooner or later will face death. The question is, are you ready?

How can I be ready?

How can I come to Jesus today!

Pray this simple prayer with me.

“Dear Jesus, I am a sinner please come into my heart today and forgive me of my sins, in Jesus name Amen.” He will come in and you will have peace.

If you prayed this prayer, write and let me know. I always love to receive email and comments. Thanks so much.
Have a Jesus filled week!

Love, Eddie
