Christian??????????????

Christian unto Death ???

Who are we? What are we? Why are we?

This week in Iran a Pastor was guilty and sentence to death, because he refused to reject Christianity.

Acts 11:19-26

What does it mean to be called a Christian?

Here are some pointed questions. Does going to church make you a christian? Having parents who are Christians make you a Christian? What about being sprinkled or baptized as a baby makes you a Christian? What about being born into a church family? What about doing good works and giving to charity does that make you a Christian? Let say, I belong to a denomination, can a government or a denomination declare you a Christian? If, you do not belong to a denomination does that disallow you to be called a Christian? Should families reject their loved ones if they are not belonging to a particular faith?

So who is a Christian? How does one become a Christian?

I believe that a Christian is a child of God by birth. No! Not by a physical birth but by a spiritual birth.

Galatians 3:26 “For you all are the sons of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

John1:12   “But as many as received him, to them gave the power to become the children of God ,even to them that believe on his name; Who are born ,not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor the will of man, but of God.”

I believe we are a child of God by a spiritual birth.

Have you truly been born again?

Jesus said to Nicodemus, “You must be born again.”

Dear friends, all you have to do is to call upon the name of Jesus! Dear Jesus, come into my heart today. I repent of my sins in Jesus name, amen!

Temperance and Prohibition

We have only to look about us in this great city, to observe the traces of the deadly influence of intemperance. Everywhere, we face crime, disease and death, all testify to the necessity
of the prosecution of the cause, of steadfast and unwavering effort and prompt action
to lead to complete success.
The Whole World's Temperance Convention,

On October 28, 1919, Congress passed the Volstead Act providing for enforcement of the Eighteenth Amendment to the Constitution, which was ratified nine months earlier. Known as the Prohibition Amendment, it prohibited the "manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors" in the United States.
