Daniel 6:16-28

He delivers and rescues, and He….has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

What are we, as Christians, facing in 2014? What are the roaring toothless lions in 2014?

 I believe they are found in 2 Tim 3:1-17

 I believe as we face the second coming of Jesus we as born again believers will face intense persecutions.

I believe that according Daniel 6 that our God is able to do the following:

a.       Deliver and rescues us.

b.       God is all powerful and will deliver us from evil.

  I believe that we must stand firm and see the salvation of the Lord!

2 Tim. chapters 4

I believe we must:

1.       Preach the Word.

2.       Watch

3.       Endure

4.       Witness

5.       Do ministry

6.       Be prepared for persecutions and martyrdom.

7.       Fight the good fight

8.       Run the course

9.       Keep the faith

10. Remember our reward

 

 Dear friends as we face the New Year  we are to be brave, pray, support each other, preach the Word Of God and stand tall and firm in the word and see his deliverance and wonder working power!!!!

FIRST CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN

I’ve had my first Christmas in Heaven, A glorious, wonderful day!

I stood with saints of the ages who found Christ the Truth and the Way.

I sang with the Heavenly choir: Just think–I, who longed so to sing!

And, oh, what celestial music we brought to our Saviour and King!

We sang the glad songs of redemption, how Jesus to Bethlehem came,

And how they called His Name Jesus, That all might be saved through His Name.

We sang once again with the angels, the song that they sang that blest morn,

When shepherds first heard the glad story that Jesus, the Saviour, was born.

O, how I wish you had been there; No Christmas on earth could compare

With all the rapture and glory we witnessed in Heaven so fair.

You know how I always loved Christmas; it seemed such a wonderful day,

With all of my loved ones around me, the children excited and gay.

Yes, now I can see why I loved it, and oh, what a joy it will be

When you and my loved ones are with me to share in the glories I see.

So, dear ones on earth, here’s my greeting: Look up till the day dawn appears,

And oh, what a Christmas awaits us, Beyond all our partings and tears!

The Firestorm of Fear concerning Christmas?

 

  This past week we have seen a firestorm of controversy over what color was Santa and Jesus! The raw emotion that erupts like a mad volcano over the different races of people is very frightening and sickening.

 

  We have heard the voices of some who said they were scared of a white Santa and maybe a white Jesus.

 

  I understand the hurts and pains of the ghosts of time past. I believe that the real focus is not on the color of the skin but on  belief that these figures represents which are love,joy,peace and good will to all races of people.

 

  Then we have the humanist and atheist that have so much in fear of Christmas and Christians that they are willing openly attacking and smearing Christ and Christians. The most amazing thing is that they would not do it against the other religions and should not!

 

    Christmas is about the birth of Jesus rescuing us from burning hell and brings us to eternal life!

 

                       JESUS

 

  He came not to a throne, but to a manger.

     He lives not as a King but as a servant.

       He chose not a kingdom, but a cross.

        He gave not just a little, but everything.

Christmas is a time of great peace, hope, joy and celebration of God’s greatest gift of love through His son Jesus!

Christmas heals people’s fears!! I say come to Jesus today and experience the Christ of Christmas.

The Great Christmas Melt Down!

  Christmas , a time fun, food, and fellowship!  This year more than ever we are seeing the bah humbugs coming out in droves!

  The humbugs of the ghost present, those who declare war on christmas!! Those who attack the Christmas Tree, Natvity and Santa. I call this the great christmas melt down, or are they fielding their oats!!!

 I believe Christ -mas is Christ in us is the only hope of Glory!!!!!! The ahtiest, humbugs  of christmas can try to do all they want but Jesus Christ was born, lived, died on the cross and rose from the dead! He is  lives!

   Is it not amazing that a child born by  the Virgin Mary, can cause great fear in some hearts! Why? why does a child born over 2000 years ago cause great fear today???

    " And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field,keeping watch over their flock by night.
     And lo,the angel of the Lord cmae upon them ,and the glory of the Lord shone round about them : and they were sore afraid.
     And the angel said unto them,Fear not:for bring unto you good tidings of great joy,which shall be to all people.
  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."
                                                                                               Luke 2:9-11

    I believe that  God gave a gift and that gift is the  Christ  of  Christ-mas. Jesus  God's only begotten son shakes the  very ground of satan hounds.  Jesus birth, and His shed blood on the cross  has set us free from the bondge of sin and shame. We gain eternity from a burning hell meant for satan and his demons!!!!

  Dear friend, I believe that Christmas is  the greatest time of the year and no one can take that away!!!! Jesus Christ was born, lived , died and rose from the dead. I trusted in Him and so can you! He can and will change your life today ,pray this simple prayer," Dear  Jesus, I am a sinner, I repent of my sins , come into my heart today and be my Saviour!

The Lady and the Boy in the Pickle

 

  Many years ago, in a time, and space that cannot be replaced was an elderly, chubby, cheerful British “Lady.”

 

  Ms. Hall was a loving, kind, gentle, but firm school teacher.  Her home was in beautiful Kingston, Jamaica in the West Indies where I lived. Ms. Hall was my elementary teacher.

 

  Why was she so very special to me?  I was a slow learner, had a difficult time in reading comprehension and I was in a pickle. You see in order to move on to the next grade I had to pass the reading class and that was not about to happen any time soon.

 

     Ms. Hall, she saw that I was in a pickle,a fearful young lad. She took me under a tree and began the long road to teach me how to read and comprehend what I read. How was she able to do this? Her character and attitude was different from other teachers? She was capable, kind, faithful and patient.

 

 There is a passage that describes her and it’s found in Acts Chapter 11 verse twenty four concerning a man called Barnabas.

 

 

   “For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith.”

 

   Why was Mrs. Hall a great person and teacher that influence me? Why was Barnabas a person that influences people?

 

·        I believe they both possessed the character trait of goodness.  The word good here is competency, capable of accomplishing great things to help others.

 

·       I believe that they both passed and demonstrated faith in God and people.

                                                                                      What is faith?  Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the convictions not seen.”

 

·       I believe that in Barnabas he was full of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives in us when we get saved and gives us power to live life fully and meet the challenges of life.

 

   Mrs. Hall even though she had faith to tackle daily life her faith turned a different corner and gave her a new meaning for living when she accepted Jesus into her heart.

 

  Now here is where it gets very interesting, I came from college in America to visit my home which was in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies during the Christmas break. I was invited to preach at my home church “Grace Missionary” I invited Mrs. Hall to come and hear me preach, and when the invitation was given, Mrs. Hall came forward and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord.

 

  The lady that led me to read, I was able to lead her to a saving faith in Jesus!

 

 Dear friends, we need hope today! So many people are living in fear and are in a pickle. We need good people, full of the Holy Ghost are  faithful, to live and give hope to the hopless.

 I believe that hope comes through Jesus!  God richly loves you so very much that He sent His only Son Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins, that whoever call on Him, and repent of their sin will receive eternal life, peace and hope!

   Would you pray this simple prayer with me,” Dear Lord Jesus, I am a sinner, I repent of my sin, come into my heart today in Jesus name amen!”

How to brighten someone’s Day

 

   How can we brighten someone today? How can we encourage someone today? I believe so many people are carrying a heavy heart, discouraged, and a lot of times they would not share their feelings.

                                                                                                   I believe today, that some are going through a divorce, sudden illness, terminal illness, loss of job, a feeling of concerns of taking care of an older parent.

                                                                                            I also believe that some are in serious pain, some are going through separations from loved ones, some have feelings of not being loved, and some are going through intense persecutions. Friends, what can we do to help them?

 

   In Acts chapter eleven verses 19-26 verse “Who when he came, and seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.”

 

   The believers in Jesus were going through intense persecutions and in spite of this they continued preaching the gospel and many were getting saved.

 

 The church in Jerusalem heard this and sent Barnabas to give them encouraging words which were:

 

a.   They would maintain a purpose of heart.

b.   They would cleave unto the Lord.

 

      Dear friends, there are so many folks that are discouraged today, because of so many reasons. What can we do? We must give them encouraging words, listen, and provide demonstrations of acts of love.

 P.S  I heard the other day, that one of my children sent a gift of love to one of their siblings as encouragement!  I just want to thank you Jesus! for all of my kids for demonstrating love to each other and to the world!!!!!!!! I love you Brian, Justin , Angela, my daughters in laws , Erika and April, and my son in law Kevin, for acts of love!!!!!  I thank God for my wife Donna, for demonstrating acts of love and brightening  someones day!!!!!!

The Rock that holds!

To a Faithful and Precious Church! The First Baptist Church of Eagle Lake , Florida

     This week,we were invited to a homecoming and I was asked to give a testimony .  We could not attend because of previous arrangements. The homecoming was at the First Baptist Church of Eagle Lake, Florida. I served as  their pastor, of this sweet body of believers,  between 1981-1986.

   I just want to publicly thank them for remembering Donna and myself.  One of the many facts that  I remembered  about the congregation, the deacons and their wives were their enduring love for the Pastor and his family.

  Donna and myself just came to the church. Donna was heavy with our second child Justin. When we arrived at the parsonage, with Brian our first child,walked into the the kitchen, and what I saw next was love.

  Some of the  deacons wives were on their knees scrubbing the floor and some were  cleaning the counter. For the new pastor and his family this demonstration of love was awesome, and it touched our hearts very much!!!!!!!

  The years that followed were labors of love by the deacons, their wives, and the congregation!


    To the Pastor, his family, and the congregation of Eagle Lake, Florida we love you, and wish you continued success for reaching people for the Kingdom of God!

  2 Tim.2:3-4 “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”

   No man that entangled himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.”

 

      How many times have you heard this statement, “Hold the Line,” from people whom are in difficult situations and are facing a formidable opponent.   

      Today, Christians and their leaders are facing an unbelievable war with the flesh, the world and the devil.

  Timothy was facing intense persecutions and the apostle encouraged him to:

·       Endure hardships,

·       Not to be entangled with the world affairs.

 

  I firmly believe that so many Christians today are facing unbelievable battles spiritually and emotionally. I say, Dear friends, stand firm, hold the line,trust in Him and see the moving, mighty hand of God on your life!!  I also believe that God loves you and He will never forsake you.

    Assad of Syria is a butcher and needs to be taken out but who will replace him!!  My question, as we, as a  Nation prepared to go to war, are we ready spiritually???  I say ,No!!!According to God's Word in the Book of Leviticus chapter 26, we  are in big trouble with our God!!!

 

• We have sinned against God's Word!!!!!!
•  We have immorality abounds!!!!
• We have accepted homosexuality and same sex marriage!!!!!
• We have racial divisions and hate!
• We rejected the verbal, inspired, inerrant authority of God's Holy  Word ,and it's Biblical teachings and authority!!!!!!
• Our leaders mock God's Word  by their attitudes and  actions !
 
• The bottom line is we are not ready spiritually! We can defeat this evil man but we need a revival! Our nation needs to turn back to God and His Word!!!!!!!
•  
•   Let us all prayer for our Nation, and it's leaders, to experience a Holy Ghost Revival!!!!!!!

 

•    Our prayers and thoughts are with our nation, the innocent people of Syria and the Middle East!!!

 

                                                     Revival,repentance and renewal in our land!! God bless the USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
