God
Cares
I have often heard it said during some dark
days in one’s life,” Does care for me.” I have also said this. I have, at times,
felt the feeling of loneliness and being abandoned. I would like to share this story.
A
Frenchman incurred the displeasure of Napoleon and was put in a dungeon. He
seemed to be forsaken by his friends and forgotten by everyone in the outside
world. In loneliness and despair he took a stone and starched on the wall of
his cell, “Nobody cares.”
One
day a green shoot came through the cracks on the floor of the dungeon and began
to reach toward the light in the tiny window at the top of the cell to. The prisoner
kept part of the water brought to him each day by the jailer a poured it on the
blade of the green. It grew until at last it became a plant with a beautiful
blue flower. As the petals opened up in full blossom, the solitary captive
crossed out the words previously written on the wall and above them scratched,
“God cares.”
- The Chaplain
Fear not for I am with
thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee, yea, I will
help thee, yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isaiah 41:10
Dear friends, I will be sharing some thoughts
on this matter in the coming days! I know and have experience God’s presence
and protection. I firmly that God care for you and me.
Love,
Eddie
