Don’t Worry Be Happy
Psalm 37:1-9!
WE at times can worry over worry, again and again and when will it never end!
God tells us in vs. 1 -9 several things:
First God tell us to be cautious and to be careful of thoughts of discontent.
Secondly He tells us not to look at what others have and what we don’t have.
Thirdly don’t envy what others have because they can lose it all in a minute!
I heard a story about a Methodist bishop who was sitting at his desk, worrying about the state of church affairs in his parish. It was night time. He was troubled, wondering which course to take, until the big clock struck midnight.
He said that he seemed to hear the voice of the Lord, “Now go to bed bishop. I will sit up the rest of the night.”
Dear friends, we all have the tendency to worry. I remember as a child, in Jamaica W.I in the City of Kingston, I was in my room worrying. I fell into a deep sleep and suddenly, I woke up in fright, I felt as if a demon was choking me! I cried out, “Jesus! Jesus! Help me!” I heard a voice and it said to me,” Eddie have you no faith in me!” I was released instantly. I have always remembered, the sweet, soft voice of a loving savior reminding me that He is in control and to have complete faith in Him!
God wants us not to worry what we don’t have, and what others have, but to focus on who we have in our heart! Trust in Him today! He will meet your needs!
Love, Eddie
